New blood test

First the rant..... I Was at my doctors on wed trying to sort out a report I just received from my endo in Liverpool (I posted on here a few days ago about it ) no help,.. I've to contact the endo myself (seems we are doing the gps receptionists jobs for them now 😠)

So I then asked if I could get an appointment with the nurse for thyroid blood work up.. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Ho god.. Ho god... 🤯🤯🤯.... She the receptionist said.. "you had blood work for thyroid done on July 23rd"..."yes I said" but the endo on June 22nd told me to decrease my t3 meds from 25mg to 20mg so I did on June 28th..so when you either INCREASE or DECREASE thyroid medication you have to re test the thyroid bloods after 7/8 week's "

Receptionist.." Yeah well the July ones are ok"... 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Give me strength.. I also mentioned the endo WANTS the blood work when I've been on the 20mg for 7/8 wks.. So she can evaluate what's going on!!

Receptionists face.. 🤨.. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Anyway she very reluctantly found me an appointment... 24th October.. Phew..... I needed to lay down after that encounter 😬

It's no wonder that we get frustrated when those who're not qualified try to make excuses re our last blood draw.

You're correct that if we've had our thyroid hormones adjusted, we do need to know we're progressing or not and that would be 'a blood test for confirmation' and that the patient is now on a dose that enables them to feel well and no longer have unpleasant symptoms.
