Too much thyroxine?

Hi, Please can someone help me?

I have Hashimotos, Sjogrens & Antiphosphilipid syndrome.

Has anyone experienced continuous rolling migraines for a week?

I don’t usually suffer from migraines, other than the odd visual aura if my INR drops below 2.

For the last week I have had frequent daily auras and headaches.

The auras stop & start throughout the day.

About 4-5 times a day I have a ‘proper aura’ lasting 20 mins followed by bad headache & fatigue then couple of hours later the cycle starts all over again 😵‍💫

Also getting lots of smaller, shorter auras, flashing lights etc most of the day.

Most days the aura starts as soon as I open my eyes.

I’m exhausted with it, can’t drive, can’t go to work and completely miserable ☹️

I have had head CT, full eye exam, eye scans & photo etc all fine.

Blood pressure & INR fine.

GP thinks my thyroxine level might be too high so blood test for that this afternoon, but I’m not convinced.

I had an increase of 25mcg every other day 6weeks ago, so timing would be right but I find it hard to believe that tiny amount could cause these extreme effects.

Last blood test results:

25 July 2023

TSH<0.01.

T4 16 (7.5-21.1)

T3 4.5 (3.8 -6)

I was taking 150mcg Thyroxine & 20mcg Lio at the time.

Added 25mcg every other day 6 weeks ago.

The only thing GP has given me is codeine (he says most migraine drugs not o.k with Warfarin)

That knocks me out so I suppose some relief if I’m asleep, though I have woken up in middle of the night with an aura going on!

I’ve googled for hours & can’t find anything about having migraines with aura continuously like this, don’t know what further tests to suggest to GP.

I can’t cope with this much longer & am very worried ☹️

Hoping you wise people may have some suggestions.

Which brand is the extra 25mcg

Which brand is remaining 150mcg

Many people find different brands of levothyroxine are not interchangeable

I always have mercury pharma.

Rolling migraines are frequently thyroid related. I’ve suffered them when I’ve been both under medicated and overmedicated.

I’m currently in a three week ‘run’ to date. I’ve had tests and scans from a neurologist and there have been no clinical findings.

Stress is a trigger in most rolling migraines

In my case, they are not connected with thyroid/medication
