Hi, Can anyone reccomend a private gp who will listen. I rang my gp who would not accept my private blood results. He ran his test which was TSH 3.79. FT4. 12.9. I was told all normal. No Ft 3 tested. Where do I go from here I wonder . Am extremely tired , weight gain fingernails are now non existent. Generally feel ill on a daily basis. Please pm me if you can recommend a Gp . Thankyou.

You are advised to get full thyroid profile bloods done to include TSH, FT4 & FT3 + vitamins ferritin, folate, B12 & D3 and antibodies before your appointment to avoid wasting your first visit.

GP's do usually want to run their own blood tests. I hope your test was done at or close to 9am when TSH is highest?

I see you have positive antibodies so do have Hashimoto's. Your levels will fluctuate and NICE guidelines state that you need 2 TSH results (on the NHS) above range to begin treatment. It's really harsh but rarely members have found someone to treat them sooner.

You can email info@thyroiduk.org for a list of private doctors and Endocrinologists. Pick a couple then post here asking for feedback which will have to be via personal message and the post will be locked.
