Even after all this time of careful study, the US gurus simply ignore our message

This is a politically interesting article. You might think from the title that our novel finding about the role of T3 production in the thyroid might be recognised. Especially in a socalled centennial paper. But no, the old idea is trotted out yet again, with a "US-exclusive" tone. None of our work is mentioned. If you want to feel frustrated by an ox-like refusal to face possible error, read this. Especially as it emphasises discoveries.

Is it just me or does opening the PDF take absolutely ages for everyone else as well?

I've had this issue with the liebertpub website before, and I always wonder if there are shenanigans going on and it is trying to do naughty stuff to my PC. :O

I did it on one machine earlier and it wasn't fast but not too bad. Now trying on my other machine and it seems stuck on an almost all grey screen.

Same software, processor, on both machines.

Jumping to PDF screenshot - very slow

I cancelled and closed the window. Waited a few minutes. (See times of these replies!) Tried again and it was fine.

Thank you. I did get there in the end, but what an awful website!

Again… plus ça change…. and all that! What will it take to change truly embedded unacceptable attitudes and lack of clear understanding and vision?

You must feel so frustrated…. as we do. Thank you for posting.

Well, at least we are well on with our intended eBook. Most of the writing is done, so it shouldn't take an age to finalise it. We will be especially careful not to give logic hostages to opponents. It will be strongly based on using current knowledge about the thyroid axis to construct a pathway to optimally diagnose presenting patients and to discuss optimal treatment routes. It of course has thyroid physiology in it, but the emphasis throughout is the interaction with the patient.

this sounds dreamy, can't wait 🙂

Would it help to get you guys from the UK/Europe onto some of the US/AUS podcasts such as Dr Eric Balcavage Thyroid Answers? Bianco was just on a few weeks back. How about Jen Gunter Body Matters, there are more. Maybe even Annabel Bateman Lets talk Thyroid?

Happy to offer my services for PR/Connections, I used to run Marketing department and would be happy to. We could start by making sure all the influencers have your paper etc.

Could pen some press releases and send to nationals about the amazing new endocrine research coming out of the UK/EU etc.

Maybe you'd rather do your own podcast I'm just getting into podcasting, could interview you and help set one up, could ask Zoe guys if they would like to interview you - links to gut health especially with T3.

Just spitballing ideas - happy to pitch in if you think it will help.

We'll keep it strongly in mind. But, and this is a big but, the US gurus "feed on their own corn and no-one else".

This sounds fantastic! With Diogenes comment about US gurus "feed on their own corn and no-one else" there surely must be some who want to rock the boat and at least question the scandalous research and thinking from across the pond?

It would certainly cause a buzz 🤗... maybe time to talk to Davina??

I've been thinking a lot about Davina recently! We certainly need a 'celebrity' on our side.

We do, at least someone of that status.

I don’t know about “US Gurus” - we’ve got plenty of “morons” of our own to sort out!

The truth will out eventually though, Diogenes and thank you for persisting. Regenallotment's suggestions seem like a fast route to spreading awareness of the costs of entrenched thinking and inappropriate practice.
