My thyroid blood tests are normal, so I don’t have a thyroid condition - though I don’t know what I do have, as I had de Quervain’s thyroiditis eight years ago, and I haven’t been the same since.
My recent blood test showed normal cortisol too. That’s if you say that my 3pm finger prick is a morning value, given that my body decrees that night time sleep is from 1am to 1pm.
My problem now is that small stress causes a large effect. One example : I was waiting for an online sale. I noticed it had arrived, and a bolt of adrenaline like lightning went through my body. It took a week for my heart to go back to normal, and stop waking me with a surge near morning. It has made my ME bad and I haven’t recovered yet. I’m getting far more involuntary movements than normal.
This has happened three times in the last, oh , three months. Something has gone ‘snap’ because I used to get a milder form of this but I could calm it down with diazepam. Then it improved and my body could come down by itself , even though it took a couple of days. I haven’t got any diazepam and I could ask the GP, but this is so much worse that I want to get to the bottom of what causes it. (I don’t take thyroid meds)
Any point in a saliva test ? Does this lead to diagnosis or treatment ?
Thanks for you help.
