I was on t3 only 75 for 2,5 years. I developed depression (lack of interest, lack of motivation) and was tired after eating. After trying antidepressant after antidepressant without improvement i tought that i need the t4. But now i know i was "only" overmedicated.I switched to t4 and try to find the right dosage.

I tried 200 (4weeks), 175(4 weeks), 150(5weeks) and now i'm on 162 in the 5 week.

The tiredness after eating was only on 200. With the other dosages whent off.

But et every dosage i got skeep problems..interupted sleep or sleepless.

The lack of interest/motivation still there. Only at 150 the depression worsen (sadness..) for me that mean that im hypo.

Now on 162 i'm sleepless and my face get red spots. Massive breakout. Never had such a face on 175 or 200.

My levels all were made in one lab.

The range is T3 2,5-4,4 T4 0,89-1,76

150 162 175 200

T3 3,7 4,3 4,8 5,3

T4 1,45 1,53 1,73 1,92

Is it so hard to find an dosage? What could be the problem?

4 months ago your previous post you were on T3 only

Any changes should be done slowly and gradually and then wait minimum 6-8 weeks to retest and fine tuning dose more likely wait 12 weeks before testing

Also retest vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Likely vitamin levels dropped with such dramatic changes

Always test thyroid early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Odd ranges

on 150mcg

FT4: 1.45 pmol/l (Range 0.89 - 1.76)

Ft4 64.37% through range

FT3: 3.7 pmol/l (Range 2.5 - 4.4)

Ft3 63.16% through range

On 162mcg

FT4: 1.53 pmol/l (Range 0.89 - 1.76)

Ft4 73.56% through range

FT3: 4.3 pmol/l (Range 2.5 - 4.4)

Ft3 at 94.74% through range

Suggest you hold at 162mcg dose levothyroxine

Retest Thyroid again in another 6-8 weeks

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

Meanwhile…..Get vitamins tested

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Do you have autoimmune thyroid disease (hashimoto’s)

As SlowDragon has said, it’s important to make adjustments to thyroid medication slowly over time. I’m definitely a tortoise not a hare when adjusting medication, as increasing/ decreasing by more than 12.5mcg of Levo causes me adverse symptoms (eg heightened anxiety). I find a pill cutter useful when adjusting doses.

It is a little bit strange for me to have on every dosage of t4 only sleep problems. On t3 only never had this sleep problems...the conversation from t4 to t3 is good but never was on a t4 only therapy in the past. Could t4 only be the problem?
