I had a baby last year and we’re trying for another baby, but nothing.
I got an under active thyroid, the drs think from pregnancy.
I’m currently taking 100mcg of thyroxine, but drs have told me to take 100mcg of thyroxine every 3 days and 70mcg of thyroxine on the 4th day. But I’ve stayed on 100mcg as when I did what they said I was soooo tired couldn’t stay awake in the day.
Anyway I’m wondering is it harder to conceive if your levels aren’t right or is it just harder to get pregnant if you’ve got an under active thyroid?
I haven’t had bloods for a few months now but will be booking a blood test today.
Thank you
Romy

Recommended blood test protocol: Test at 9am (or as close as possible), fasting, last levo dose 24hrs before the blood draw & no biotin containing supplements for 3-7 days (Biotin can interfere with thyroid blood results as it is used in the testing process)? Testing like this gives consistency in your results and will show stable blood levels of hormone. Taking Levo just prior to blood draw can show a falsely elevated result and your GP/Endo might change your dose incorrectly as a result.
What supplements are you taking?
What were your latest vitamin blood results?
Do you always getthe same brand Levo every prescription.
It can be harder to conceive and maintain the pregnancy if your thyroid hormone levels are on the low side. As soon as you know you are pregnant you should get a 25mcg dose increase as the body needs more during pregnancy.
Do you know if you had positive thyroid antibodies? Many with autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's benefit from a gluten free diet. A smaller percentage of those also need to remove dairy from their diet to feel well. These are intolerances and will not show up on any blood test.
Start a new post with your new blood results as soonas you get them. You really need private labs done to get FT3 as well. Private tests are available, see link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...
thank you for taking your time to write this message. Won’t be getting a blood test for a month at the drs so will do a private one I think. No vitamins. Yes they seem to give me the same brand each time. I haven’t got any bloods for vitamin levels.
