blood test results Graves’ disease

Hi everyone, here are my latest blood test results from the hospital, the endocrinologist said I would remain on block and replace for another 4 months, I’m fine with that but I just wondered what the TSH suggests as it’s nowhere near normal to me, can anyone explain what it all means, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks

TSH unreliable and can remain low after period of hyper.

My TSH never recovered and is still undetectable, - I’ve been on carbimazole over 4 years.

Your FT4 & FT3 are in range but your FT4 is top of range & FT3 very low in range.

The low FT3 might be making you feel hypothyroid symptoms.

Have you had nutrients tested?  Folate, ferritin, B12 & vitamin D.

How much carbimazole/ levo are you currently taking?

Why is carbimazole & Levo “block & replace/ add back” being used.

Was tritration (carbimazole alone) tried & unsuccessful?

Your Trab Graves marker is negative. What is the cause of your hyper?

Thank you for replying to me, I started on 40mg carbimazole 12 months ago after testing positive for Graves’ disease then after about 6 weeks it was decided I would be on block and replace so I take 40mg carbimazole in the evening and 100 levothyroxine in the morning and a selenium supplement during the day. I was told I had hyperthyroidism and positive antibodies for Graves’ disease last March. I’m not aware of having any nutrients tested. Thanks for reading though my results.

might be worth arranging a private test to check nutrients.

Usually block & replace is reserved for those who are unstable on carbimazole alone. Or if you have T3 driven hyper, and FT4 drops below range before FT3 becomes in range.

What were results showing TRab positive, doctors will say graves or hyper based on low TSH & high FT4 & FT3. It may have been transient,

Being on block & replace will conceal natural levels. You may not need carbimazole & you may manage on a lower dose carbimazole & no levo. That might balance FT4:FT3.

Hi, I will send you the very first set of blood results this evening as I have them at home, I thought I was slightly under active because I’ve lost my buzz and feel like I’ve slowed down a bit but they said that was my body adjusting back to normal. Thanks for your time and advice

That's ok - if you look and compare you will see that your TR ab were then 3.80 and well over the marker of 1 - now you are under the marker of 1 with that < sign :

Hello, thanks for replying, I took my levothyroxine at 7.00am and had the blood test at 11.30am the same day. I wasn’t sure whether to take it or not and the doctor didn’t tell me I shouldn’t.
