Blood test - 18/4/23

My latest blood results -

TSH 0.02 (0.38-5.33),

FT4 17.2 (7.9-14.4)

FT3 6.4 (3.8-6.0)

Any advice/ comments would be appreciated. Thanks x

Florah, please say what thyroid medication you were taking when this test was done.

RedApple Levothyroxine 50mcg and now taking Carbimazole 20mg. Blood test in 2 weeks, depending on results will take Carbimazole & Levothyroxine

I believe you're hyperthyroid with Graves. Can you update us on what you're currently taking meds wise and hopefully PurpleNails can advise further.

Jaydee1507 was taking 50mcg Levo until the bloods, now taking carb 20mg. I love from overactive to underactive

So you started the carb after these results. You're still over active by these blood results but I'm sure PurpleNails will have more advice.

I'm not sure we ever had positive / over range Graves antibodies - did we ?

I think I'm remembering positive / over range anti bodies for Hashimoto's - which could well explain everything you have been going through.

Please confirm back if there is the medical evidence of positive and over range TR ab - usually written as a thyroid receptor blocking antibody or a TSI - written as something like a thyroid stimulating antibody :

June 2021...You had an episode of 'hyper' but we saw no proof it was actually Graves, as you could not find TRab result ** edit TRab 1.9 Sept 2021** (Endo has said Graves but as no range given we are not absolutely certain if this is positive TRab result .... i think it probably is though , as i've seen TRab ranges that are <1 ish)

TPOab >1000 (very high so this is suggestive of Hashimoto's plus Graves)

fT3 11.3 ( 3.1-6.8)

TSH <0.02 (0.3-5.0)

fT4 24.4 (12.0-22.0)

Carbimazole for 6 months .... then nothing for a few months .

June 2022 .... had become hypo.

told to stop levo as a result of this test

Stopped levo 9/1/23 ~to have retest 6th Feb (4 weeks off levo) and see endo after on

17th Feb:

~ Endo suggested thyroid removal may be an idea in future.

~ Provided previous TRab results from 2021 hyper / carbimazole episode :

TRab 1.9 ~ no range given again , but i think it was probably positive as Endo diagnosed Graves at the time (TPOab were >1000)

~ Levo restarted at 50mcg ~ what were results of 6th Feb test off levo for 4 weeks~ presumably they showed hypothyroidism again ?

18/4/23 on 50mcg levo for 8 weeks.

Stopped levo ... started carbimazole 20mcg, Endo retesting in 2 weeks ~ may start Block and Replace with carb +levo depending on results.
