private blood tests and antibodies?

hi,

I am going to purchase some blood tests, I would like thyroid, female hormones (started HRT and want to know where they are now) and vitamin levels.

Do I need to test thyroid antibodies if my diagnosis is central hypothyroidism? Or is this irrelevant as the thyroid is not attacking itself?

A lot of the package type thyroid bundles include antibody tests anyway. I know I have antibodies, really not interested in their level particularly but if I want to buy a thyroid panel+ vitamins they are always thrown in. It does no harm to test them but you don't need to go out of your way to do that.

thanks. To be fair, I haven’t had a diagnosis, previous results of thyroid is suggestive of this and initial antibodies (only 1 type tested) negative. No harm I guess!! Thanks

If you've never had them tested then its probably best you do get them tested.
