Hashimotos Disease and Diabetes type 2

I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes type 2. I’m active, not overweight and eat a very healthy diet. I understand that a side effect of Levothyroxine could possibly be responsible for glucose resistance. Does anyone have any further information?

Welcome to the forum MachuPichu33, 'a side effect of Levothyroxine could possibly be responsible for glucose resistance. '

Can you point out where you got this information from please?

It's more likely that too little thyroid hormone is connected to Diabetes T2. See here for example endocrineweb.com/news/diabe...

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking?

I read the piece linking thyroid disease and diabetes in medicalnewstoday.com/articles. I’ve read lots on people living with Diabetes type 2 going on to develop thyroid disease but very little in reverse order. Thank you for your support.
