test results
raine-wager
Can you give us some information to base our interpretation on please?
What time did you do the test - ideally 9am.
Did you drink water only before test - to avoid any food or drink that might have an effect on TSH?
What thyroid meds are you taking?
What time was last dose(s) before test - ideally last dose of Levo 24 hours before, if taking T3 or NDT it should be split into 2 or 3 doses the day before and last dose 8-12 hours before test.
Had you been taking that/those dose(s) for a minimum of 6 weeks before the test?
Do you take Biotin, B Complex or any supplement containing biotin? If so did you leave it off for 3-7 days before test?
I’ve been on 125mg since nov , test was at 11.30am only had orange juice, I did take medication at 9pm night before, haven’t taken vitamins for over a week. Also on pain killers and co-amilofruse . My symptoms have not decreased in 4 years I have most symptoms, loss of hair, no energy, tiredness, cold and heat intolerance, overweight, brain fog etc
So you're on Levo only? 6 months ago you were also taking T3.
I did take medication at 9pm night before,
If that was Levo then it should have been 24 hours before the test to give a measure of your normal circulating level of hormone, so your result could be showing higher for FT4 than it would be if advised time gap was followed.
loss of hair, no energy, tiredness, cold and heat intolerance, overweight, brain fog etc
What are your current results/ranges for Vit D, B12, Folate and Ferritin? Low nutrient levels can cause symptoms similar to symptoms of hypothyroidism, particularly low ferritin can cause hair loss, lack of energy and fatigue.
my other results
Ferritin is high, are you taking an iron supplement?
Folate is on the low side and is recommended to be at least half way through it's range which is 11.5 plus with that range.
B12 would probably be better nearer the top end of the range.
What supplements do you normally take?
Your creatinine level is raised, you might want to discuss with your GP.
