Changing thyroxine brands

I am currently reducing thyroxine and wasn’t going to change brands at present but may do in future, depending on the outcome. Would I need to retest the thyroid in 6 to 8 weeks if I do?

Also, to make sure, is it better not to change the brand while reducing?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your quick response. That is helpful to me at this present time while still struggling with symptoms.

Hi Sailing14

Yes I find my body reacts differently to different brands. So on a certain dose on a certain brand I can be overmedicated. However on another brand I can be perfect.

You need your symptoms to settle on the dose reduction first. Then change brand and hope that your body uses it the same as your previous brand. But if you don’t feel right when you change that brand you can test and see why.

Hope you feel better soon.
