G999,

Welcome to our forum,

1/2 grain of ERFA contains 18mcg T4 and 4mcg T3, and the manufacturers claim this to be biologically equivalent to 50mcg Levothyroxine due to the way thyroid enzymes work in the body.

However, the reality is many find it to be slightly less and I usually advocate for a grain NDT to be about 80mcg T4 so a 1/2 grain would be 40mcg T4.

If you are switching form Levothyroxine and haven't taken NDT before, be aware there are certain essential cofactors required to make T3 tolerance easier and encourage a smoother transition.
