you need FT3 & nutrients tested. Levo only works well if nutrients optimal f converting well to active hormone.

With what looks like OK results on Levo only and remaining symptoms you might be a poor converter. We won't know that until you get vitamins tested and optimised and see an FT3 test. You probably need to buy a provate test to get these results. Monitor my health is the cheapest, use discount code from Thyroid UK website.

Do you have ranges for those tests? They vary from lab to lab and are important to interpret the results.

There is no ferritin result.

Can recommend you get a full thyroid profile blood test + vitamins to assess properly if you are converting or not.

You don't have a FT3 result so need the private tests.

You also need ranges for the vitamin results + a ferritin test.

Do you know if you have autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto’s usually diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

EXTREMELY common to develop dairy intolerance on levothyroxine with autoimmune thyroid disease

Dairy intolerance frequently causes issues with sinus and post nasal drip etc

Also gluten intolerance

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose change or brand change in levothyroxine

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested.

Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum

About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune thyroid disease, usually diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

Autoimmune thyroid disease with goitre is Hashimoto’s

Autoimmune thyroid disease without goitre is Ord’s thyroiditis.

Both are autoimmune and generally called Hashimoto’s.

Low vitamin levels are extremely common when hypothyroid, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s or Ord’s thyroiditis)

20% of autoimmune thyroid patients never have high thyroid antibodies and ultrasound scan of thyroid can get diagnosis

In U.K. medics hardly ever refer to autoimmune thyroid disease as Hashimoto’s (or Ord’s thyroiditis)

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus antibodies and vitamins

Blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold includes antibodies, cortisol and vitamins

Only do private testing early Monday or Tuesday morning.

Watch out for postal strikes, probably want to pay for guaranteed 24 hours delivery

Hi editheve,

Are you dairy free? I used to have terrible sinus issues with drip at back of my throat.

It was uncomfortable and I also had regular headaches but across the front of my face.

My sinuses used to gurgle it wasn't pleasant. It all eased off fairly quickly when I stopped eating dairy products.

Best wishes.
