Hi, I have pernicious anaemia (PA) and members from the PA society group on HealthUnlocked signposted me here.
Some of the symptoms of hypothyroidism and PA overlap. I dont seem to be responding as well as I expected with B12 injections for PA and my last bloods show a 'normal' range for TSH. I cannot see more detailed thyroid tests in my record over the years despite complaining of chronic fatigue and GI issues for decades, and no real investigation and diagnosis.
I cannot fight with my GP anymore for tests, it doesnt amount to anything. Are there privat tests which dont cost the earth which could persuade my GP to investigate further. I f I had the funds, I would see a private functional doc and get tests done there but I cant stretch to it ATM.
Where do I start? Thyroids seem very complex!
Thank you 🙏

I'll post the link to the companies T UK recommends. Personally I use Medichecks to get full thyroid, antibodies and key vitamins checked as I need a blood draw. The cheapest is Monitor my health which is a finger prick test by post. Use the discount codes from T UK in the link. thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...
Have you had your key vitamins checked lately - ferritin, folate, B12 & D3? Also required as cofactors for B12.
Always test at 9am or as close as possible as that is when TSH is highest.
Thank you. I would like to try and get these tests from my GP first. Can you recommend a resource to help obtain these tests? Eg symptom checker? I inject B12 every other day...
