My medication has been dropped form 150 mg to 125mg . The pharmacy want to mix my brands to give to give me my new dosage. I’m currently using accord and they told me that accord don’t produce 25mg. What brands do 25mg ? My sister lives in Italy and is on Eutirox by Merck and is one table of 125mg. Any suggestions on UK equivalent? I’m not keen on mixing brands as I’m Trying to get balanced

If you don't want to mix brands ask your GP to issue a prescription for 100mcg and 50mcg Accord tablets. Then either cut the 50mcg in half for the 25mcg daily or alternate 150/100 to average 125mcg.

Many of us end up taking two different makes but I understand why you'd not want to!

The UK has traditionally gone down the road of having a small number of dosages and us having to combine them to get the doses we need.

Follow this link to my thyroid hormone medicines document to see what the options are if you don't split tablets as suggested by SeasideSusie

my oncologist stipulated that is better to take one brand and don’t mix. In Italy you can get 125mg dose single pill and this apparently has the least side effects

Just cut 50mcg tablets by Accord in half

Why was dose reduced

What were actual thyroid and vitamin results

Hello SlowDragon I am Poppycat999. Please see my previous posts to you. Dr rang me today with my blood results.

I'm on Almus 100 levothyroxine dose

These are the results

T4 22.9 (12.0 -22.0)

TSH 0.03 (0.27- 4.2)

I am totally shocked as last results in November 2022 were

T4 16.1

TSH 4.46

I was on 50 Almus levothyroxine then.

I still feel terrible about the same as last time

Headaches every night

Terrible aches hips and shoulders Absolute tiredness. Slight dizzy lethargy. Scalloped tongue with soreness as eating sides of mouth and grinding teeth according to my recent dental visit.

Doctor is going to take cortisol test Friday and refer me to endocrinologist thank goodness. I have felt ill for 3 years now!! Thought menopause first.

My goiter is l think a little larger as feel it when l look to the left and down.

I dont know what is wrong with me. Dr is probably going to put me on 75 levothyroxine but l dont think Almus do that dose. Who does do you know?

Please message me

you could ask your GP to give you a prescription for 100mcg and 50mcg of your usual brand and on the 50's stating 1/2 tablet a day, this should address your issue.
