I’m currently taking 125mg Levothyroxine from the TEVA.

Changing changing brands make a difference?

It can do. TEVA levothyroxine does not suit everyone.

I’ve been experiencing numbness in my hands at night time.

Have you always been on Teva?

Are you lactose intolerant?

Teva and Aristo are the only lactose free tablets

Many people find Levothyroxine brands are not interchangeable.

Once you find a brand that suits you, best to make sure to only get that one at each prescription.

Watch out for brand change when dose is increased or at repeat prescription.

Teva is a Marmite brand, many people can’t tolerate it.....But some love it

Teva contains mannitol as a filler, which seems to be possible cause of problems.

Physicians should: 1) alert patients that preparations may be switched at the pharmacy; 2) encourage patients to ask to remain on the same preparation at every pharmacy refill; and 3) make sure patients understand the need to have their TSH retested and the potential for dosing readjusted every time their LT4 preparation is switched (18).

Thank you.

I’ve noticed when picking up my repeat they keep changing my brand. I’ve been bad and not paying attention to brands.. my fault.

I haven’t been told I’m lactose intolerant.

Just weight gain and bloated.

If you're not feeling great, it might be the Teva (more people don't get on with this particular brand than any other, I believe) - or it could be that you're not on the right amount of medication. Weight gain can be an indication that you need more meds. When were your bloods last tested? Did they test everything or just TSH?

If it's been a while, it would be worth testing TSH, free T4, free T3 and key nutrients - ferritin, folate, vit D and B12. Your levo works best when the nutrients are nice and high. If your GP won't test more than TSH and free T4 if you're lucky, there are usually discounts from Medichecks on a Thursday ...

In my experience it's pretty well impossible to lose weight until your meds are optimal
