New chat layout... not keen ☹️

Not sure I like the change and the restricted history, I often have to go back and refresh my memory so I don't look even more batty than usual!

Oh, but do like the quick link to posters bio dropdown thingy that I just found... might just be new to me though 🙃

I quite agree about the new chat layout, a backward step in my opinion. I wonder who decides that these "improvements" (cough!) are needed 🙄.

ever since this morning my chat icon has been lit up , no new message . just stuck on ??? probably it will sort itself out eventually , it usually does take a bit of time to iron out the gremlins whenever they fiddle with the knobs on HU site.

edit .. have now figured out why it was stuck 'on'. the unread message had not appeared at the top of this list as they usually do .. it was 3 pages down with an 'unread' tag attached ,

I think there are some gremlins in the works today. I had been logged out - something I never do myself I keep permanently logged in, so something's going on.

SERIOUSLY annoying the chat history - I have stacks and stacks of useful info in my chat messages and always looking back. bad enough having this disease without our own efforts at research being stymied.

(despite the new layout, and the fact that unread messages are not appearing at the top of the list, but as ' unread ' tag attached to your last contact with that person,, even if it was way down the list 3 pages ago . which is a bit annoying)

But i can still see all the old messages from everyone i've had pm conversations with with ...going back 3 years . or at least i think i can .

or am i misunderstanding what you are missing ?

It may just be the very long ones that have been chopped? Maybe there is a limit  turquoisea7 and I do go on a bit 😆

I've still got one that was 20 lines long to Greygoose from well over a year ago where we were having a 2am rant to each other .. can't immediately see any to/ from anyone that have been 'chopped' ,... most of mine are no longer than that anyway .

Background colour in message box for me is grey, in message box for other person is white. Not so easy on the eye.

yes I struggle with the white background even thought I run my screen slightly sepia, more gentle contrast is easier on the eye

Thanks for posting about this, you made me check why I had one alert which wasn't showing at the top of the list. It was a reply to a message further down my list, which is definitely a retrograde step!
