Recent Thyroid test (need thoughts)

I recently did my thyroid tests. I decided to do my labs 4 months sooner then scheduled because since having Covid in October my body has been on speed (My pulse randomly jumps to over 120 bpm) doing absolutely nothing and then drops to low 70s just as fast doing the very same thing I was doing when it jumps to 120bpm or higher….. I did not have this issue until I got Covid ….My pulse was so bad in October I decided to removed the extra 25mcg Levo my Endo had prescribed back in May…My pulse did settled down a little but I still get spikes and also developed another lump at the base of my neck near clavicle (this came with Covid) prior to covid I had no issues with extra lump or crazy pulse.

I added the Iron and FT3 test below….My

FT3: 2.7 (2.0 -4.4) My Results never go higher then 2.7

rest of thyroid labs are below

Thats total T3 not Free T3. Do you have the FT3 results?

I haven’t gotten that result yet (I pay for this test on my own)

Usually it's best to get all three of TSH, FT4 and FT3 done at the same lab at the same time. Total T3 results are not really relevant as far as I know.

What my Endo orders isn’t really in my control …. Which is why I pay for FT3 out of pocket along with Iron test …. Done at same time and lab as thyroid test!

So your ferritin is dire, as is your FT3. Both can cause issues with heart rate. You have an issue with converting T4 to T3.

To improve ferritin its suggested to eat chicken liver or pate a few times a week. Raising it can take many many months.

Ideally you could do with some T3 added to your replacement. Could you do that privately or get GP to refer to a T UK listed Endo?

Thanks for replying….. I have been supplementing with Iron since Aug 2022 when Ferritin was 16 can’t do the chicken liver thing but have actually increased my beef consumption a bit… I do take T3 (10mcg) can’t get endo to budge on this all he sees is TSH.

Other than an iron infusion I don't know what to suggest for ferritin, perhaps focusing on other iron rich foods.

As for your Endo, you clearly need a lower TSH and if he won't do it then possibly going privately to a recommended Endo or taking things over yourself. I know I would if I had to and I need a suppressed TSH also. So annoying they are being such sticklers about TSH. 😡

He is private and still sucks as did the 6 before him… lol and I need to stick with Endo because of Thyroid Cancer and now recurrence… just sucks and Im tired of dealing with all of this as Im sure all of us are. I might make another post for Iron separate from thyroid might make it less confusing.

Isn't it with thyroid cancer you need your TSH suppressed anyway? That's what I always thought anyway.

Yes, but even that still poses issues with getting more meds.
