Fluctuating blood pressure

Any other hypo people find this?

When I was under medicated my bp was high. Then when I started on T3 it improved. But it seems to fluctuate. I’m very active and fairly fit, and although I could do with losing a bit of weight atm (following a period of lower activity after an op, and too much coffee and cake in recovery!) I’m not massively over my normal weight.

One day my bp can be fine, the next really high, the next only slightly high.

I always take it under the same conditions so I don’t think it’s that. But I’m unsure whether to follow it up with a gp as I don’t want medication for something if I don’t need it. But some days I do! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Is this a known thyroid thing? Can it be improved without meds, ie with better vit n mineral supplementation or similar? And weight loss is a given.

Thanks 😊

You’ll get better advice from others more knowledgeable about the thyroid- BP link but I do know a lot of people are developing BP & clotting problems post COVID (because it’s a vascular disease).

Thanks.

I think the clotting thing is a vaccine effect rather than a covid effect! However, since I haven’t had covid it isn’t that in my case.

The clotting problems have been found post vaccine but are also being found a lot post- COVID too.

Oestrogen also helps lower blood pressure & BP often increases with age & peri/post menopause. Are you on HRT?

Hopefully someone will respond about the thyroid hormone. 😊

My bp was all over the place from extremely high to extremely low when I first began Levothyroxine and before I began Levothyroxine. I was under medicated. I am still under medicated, but not as much as before. I was on 37.5mcg, then 75mcg. I don't recall my exact bp numbers, but they were hitting like 200/150 and dropping to 70/52. My heart rate was hitting 160 and dropping to 60. Scary period for me. I'm currently on 100mcg of Levothyroxine. I began taking Cordyceps Extract which helped. When my blood pressure was doing that, my neck arteries and lower leg veins would bulge. My blood pressure is now normal. Some things I noticed everytime this happened is that my vision would instantly go blurry or double vision, I would sweat bad and my kidneys would hurt.

I currently have high blood pressure, but all my life, including 3 pregnancies, it was normal. After the second vax it shot up and my veins popped. So far on my 4th blood pressure meds, but the side effects are horrible and the blood pressure is not coming down.

If I mention the vax, the medical profession get a look on their faces, blank, and stop listening to me. I am not anti-vax.

They cannot pin it on my life style as I am a normal weight and run a farm, so exercise all day. I grow most of my own food, and OK, I do like a red wine in the evening, but am under the limit. Not one of the medical profession has ever looked as to WHY my blood pressure is now high. They have not run tests on my heart where I think the problem may lie.

I tried beetroot juice (bleuu) and it did drop a wee bit, so you may like to try that. Also try and get your vits and minerals checked - vets and farmers are red hot on this, giving mineral licks to sheep and cattle - but docs dont seem to know anything about it, and the vits and minerals are vital. Good luck and hope you find a way to drop your blood pressure. Hug.
