Was on 150mcg, was slightly lower than range but was afraid of reducing too much too quickly (and at the time thought I didn't need it but I did feel better in the end). Went down to 137.5 mcg 4 days a week and 150mcg 3 days a week. Just had a restest and got the below. Going to need to reduce again. Felt fine before tbh but this week have struggled to sleep and my jaw is quite sore which weirdly is a sign for me. What do you reckon I should try reducing by next? Again want to do it bit by bit so not such a shock to the system. Shall I do 137.5 all the days?
I did all the things your supposed to do. No biotin in run up. Fasted. Meds more than 12 hours ago and all that.

Sorry I am a moron! I always take it at 7am every day. On the day of the test I had hidden my pills to ensure I didn't take them out of habit (done that before) and then didn't take them until after the test which was at 10am. So over 24 hours...sorry!
If you're talking about low TSH then don't use that as a guide to adjust dose, it's not a thyroid hormone it's a pituitary hormone. You should look at FT4 and FT3, with FT3 being the most important test as that is what tells you if you are overmedicated, not TSH.
Yeah true. This was my annual health check which is like a full MOT. It's a shame they don't test T3 and antibodies. I do normally pay to do it through Thriva to get them. But last time my TSH was suppressed with T4 elevated and I wasn't converting too badly to T3 so thought I could get away with just using this one to see if I need a further decrease. And then I'm going to try and push my GP to order T4 and T3. They did tell me to stop ordering them privately so I should explain I only do that cuz you don't do enough to get the full picture.
I came up with a metaphor which is TSH is like the train conductor waving the train off. It needs to be waving at a good speed to set the train of on the right course. T4 is the train carrying the workers to work. But if not all the workers get off and go to work then the businesses won't run properly. The train needs to get waved off and then take everyone to work on time, and then everyone needs to get off. You can't just see that the conductor has waved and then assume everyone has ended up at work. Need to actually check that this is the case.
interested in your sore jaw - can you say a little more? Mine is sore at the moment because it gets stuck and won’t click back in place properly. I have to be really careful if I yawn to move it sideways before it closes . Never connected this with thyroid so wondering if you have the same thing or something different. Mine has been slightly out of place for about a week now, making eating painful.
Oo that doesn't sound nice bless you! Mine is more sore from me clenching it? So then it's really stiff to open and I find myself massaging the jaw muscle. I've noticed it tends to be when I'm finding it harder to get to sleep not feeling as rested from sleep, and being a tad wired. Then I know I might be a over medicated.
Hi Flowerpot. Just to say my results are very similar to yours at the moment and I also get terrible jaw pain in the hinges in front of my ears. The associated headaches are awful, sometimes waking me in the night. I've had the problem for a long time due to teeth clenching but like you it seems to be particularly bad when I appear overmedicated by my results. I'm currently reducing my medication from 87.5 to 75, very slowly. I was on 100 and the Dr wanted me to go straight to 75 but I knew that wouldn't work. The jaw pain has alleviated somewhat so maybe it is associated with thyroid. I think any thyroid problems attack your own personal weak spots. I've had long standing muscle problems which got very bad by the time I was diagnosed hypo. I suppose any weaknesses you have will be the easiest targets for a thyroid problem,( will think of a train analogy later!) I would support the suggestion of reducing slowly with also perhaps the possibility of temporarily increasing slightly if needed. I had flu recently and found I needed to up my dose again off and on for a week as I felt some hypo symptoms returning after being ill.
Thanks Lulu, yes you seem to be having a similar experience!
Yeah they always want you to go down a whole 25mcg every day, but as you say you just know you'll feel awful so have to edge down bit by bit.
I have made lifestyle changes which have reduced my antibodies and I think this is what has lead to me needing to reduce my dose. As such I think (hope) this will keep happening, we'll reduce and then reduce again and so on. In between I may have hyper and hypo symptoms. But yeah any time something happens like a period of stress or bad sleep or (as you say) another illness, it can trigger a flare.
Which is why the Christmas holidays are something I am a bit nervous about! Lots to do, sleeping at other people's houses, usual healthy diet harder to follow, stress...😅 it's a danger zone!
