Need a little advice on my test results

Hi everyone - See my test results attached. I feel mostly fine except for my high blood pressure. I am 46 years old. I eat healthy and exercise everyday. Weekend drinking mostly.

From these results below - I thinking of lowering my Cytomel dosage but I am not sure to what and also should I up my Synthroid? Thank you!

Ash only change 1 thing at a time. That way you know cause and effect. Do both at once and you won't know which change is causing what .I would lower cytomel by 5mcg. This in turn will increase your ft4 slightly anyway. It might be all that you need to do

I'm currently on 50mcg Levoxyl and 30mcg of T3. This isn't enough for me but I'm slowly working on it. Pfizer's Cytomel dosage instructions state under the section for adult monitoring of levels that the best measurement is Total T3, which I notice from your last test results look to be still low. I also do my own testing from UltaLabs at Quest Diagnostics and order the full panel but don't pay attention to the FT4/FT3 levels anymore.

Whether or not you need more T3 or Levo is going to be based upon your symptoms at this point. When making a change I wait until feeling like crap to lower or raise something. If you progressively feel better on a dose you're on the right track but if you feel progressively worse on a dose then it's time to adjust. That Levo can start to deplete from your system in a matter of days and take a few weeks at least to start building up in your body. I get a more immediate response from adding or withdrawing T3, usually within a few days. The only time I have high blood pressure on thyroid hormone is if I'm taking too much Levothyroxine or I'm on a T4/T3 combo that is both too much of T4 and T3 combined.

TSH shouldn't be the only test used to determine if someone is adequately treated but it can give you clues. You're on a T4/T3 combo with a very suppressed Tsh and experiencing high BP. Personally I've never taken or increased T3 and had my BP go up. It's always the T4 that does it to me. It's possible you don't even need to take any Synthroid with the T3. 35mcg-75mcg + is a full replacement dose for most people and you're on 30mcg already. If this were me I'd drop the Snythroid and track your BP for a week and when you start to feel like crap increase the T3. Not an expert but I've been trying T4/T3 combos for the past 2.5 years and this has been my experience.

I would suggest you try raising your B12 much closer to top of the range. If you aren't taking a good quality B Complex you should be. If that raises your B12 then great, but if it doesn't improve I would suggest you might need a separate B12 supplement too. The best B12 supplement is methylcobalamin. In the UK it is available on many supplement sites online, and on Amazon and Ebay. A suggested dose would be 1000mcg per day (if necessary).

One of the most recommended B Complex supplements is Thorne Research Basic B, dose = 1 per day.
