Magnesium type & amount? ( to help sleep & joint/muscle pain)

It's more likely that the joint/muscle pain is from low Vit D.

There are many types of magnesium so we have to check to see which one is most suitable for our own needs:

naturalnews.com/046401_magn...

The following link is included purely to describe the different forms of magnesium, ignore the fact that it mentions calcium is necessary, calcium is only necessary if you test and found to be deficient and then your GP should address that

explore.globalhealing.com/t...

and ignore the fact that this is a supplement company, the information is relevant:

swansonvitamins.com/blog/ar...

Take magnesium (oral supplement form) 4 hours away from thyroid meds (no need if using topical magnesium).

Dose will be given on pack but is usually around 350-450mg.

D3 & K2 amount?

The amount of K2-MK7 is recommended to be 90-110mcg for up to 10,000iu D3. Be careful if you use a combined D3/K2 supplement, check that it's no more than 100mcg in total. Also ensure it's K2-MK7 and not K2-MK4.

The amount of D3 depends on your current level, there is no one dose that suits everyone, it's very individiaul.

You might want to check out a recent post that I wrote about Vit D and supplementing:

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

and you can check out the link to how to work out the dose you need to increase your current level to the recommended level. If you don't have your current Vit D level you'll need to test before starting to supplement, you can't guess at either your level or how much D3 you will need.

Simple dried blood spot fingerprick test from NHS which offers it to the general public:

vitamindtest.org.uk/

D3 should be taken 4 hours away from thyroid meds. K2-MK7 2 hours away from thyroid meds.

D3 and K2-MK7 are fat soluble so need to be taken with dietary fat or be an oil based supplement such as softgels containing oil. If not oil based they need to be taken at different times of the day so that they don't compete for the fat to be absorbed. D3 tablets and capsules are poorly absorbed.
