Have been really frustrated this week, I have been on Mercury Pharma Lithyronine for some years now but the pharmacy announced that they can no longer supply it due to a buy out of the company. I have looked to see what is going on but not easy to decipher among the many strands of names involved. Is anyone else having this issue, I go to a Lloyds Pharmacy and wonder if their wholsalers are no longer stocking it. Any advice of how to fight this? Many thanks all!
Mercury Pharma: Have been really frustrated this... - Thyroid UK
Mercury Pharma
That’s rubbish
Try different pharmacies
Small independent pharmacies are often more helpful
Mercury Pharma is sometimes listed under the company name Advanz
Failing that….here’s Mercury Pharma customer care phone number
Hi I had this issue from my local pharmacy, last time the made up my prescription from bits and pieces! But this time they said they were not able to supply it any more. I really like the pharmacy and it's convenient so I took a chance and have switched to Accord Last couple of days have been difficult, so I am regretting it now. Leg pain, low mood, foggy thinking, palpations. Hope it doesn't last too long...
As another person suggested here somewhere - there is a name change to Eltroxine by Mercury pharma. Still tricky however to get but I’ve got two 50’s.
Also on Gov.Uk there is something about not having to change thyroid brands as can make poorly - but I’m not certain how that helps !
An update, I rang the pharmacy this afternoon, the locum Pharmacist told me that they have Mercury Pharma Liothyronine in stock but need a new GP prescription to get it. Tomorrow will ring GP and hope that what they say is the correct medication. Will give you an update tomorrow if I can get it then. Thank you all for your replies, it seems that there is some sort of a problem around but no definite clear path through.
