Hurrah! I rang Boots yesterday and they told me they could get 75mcgs liquid thyroxine for me if I could get an electronic prescription sent from the surgery. After a lot of faffing the surgery agreed to send a prescription and lo and behold Boots pharmacy rang me today to say they had 2 bottles for me and another 2 bottles coming tomorrow! It is Brillpharma 75mcg/5ml which is very like Zentiva and distributed by Alliance. Strange really, as when I rang Lloyds Pharmacy, who have the same distributor, they refused to have anything to do with the oral solution. I hope others will try Boots and get their supplies in too. Good luck!

That’s great news Tintin0202 👍
Today I picked up the balance of my last prescription - 2 bottles of BrillPharma 100mcg/5ml. That should keep me going for a while longer. This was from an independent pharmacy.
I thought last time I got my prescription that by now stocks would have been restored. Seems not. 😔
Hi! I am on 75mcg levo. What is the advantage of the liquid version over the tablet? Just wondering.
For me it is because I can't take the excipients in the tablets and makes me feel very ill. I think that is the case for most people who take the liquid. The problem is that it is far more expensive than tablets and many pharmacies will not order it in and many GPs will not prescribe it in the first place. Many people feel so much better on the liquid. There have been many posts on this subject recently that you can read.
Ah, okay. I am all right on the tablets but glad you have been able to get the liquid.
This gets stranger and stranger.
Picked up pain killers and anti inflammatories from my usual Lloyds pharmacy ( Friday 28/10/22), who automatically get a paper prescription from g.p. when I order a prescription. Gobsmacked that I was also given 2 bottles of 50mcg liquid levo which was Teva from a prescription ordered 13/10/22, which they dispensed 17/10/22. I've been sending emails to numerous places lately re. the shortage, not knowing Lloyds were holding this for me. They can't get 75mcg liquid which I believe they might also have a prescription for, for me.
Lloyds gave me Brillpharma in August, then in September, 20/9/22, could get nothing. Don't think Lloyds could get liquid levo in July.
I went to Boots in September, 20/9/22, and they could get nothing. I accepted a bottle of Wockhardt liquid I had refused 22/7/22, when they were able to get me a bottle of 50mcg Teva liquid levo. The pharmicist ordered both brands. My prescription at this time was for only one bottle.
My prescription 20/9/22 was for 2 bottles of 50mcg liquid levo. At Boots they could get nothing. They still had the Wockhardt from July. I took the Wockhardt, leaving a balance of 1 bottle owed. It is still owed despite their system showing at the start of October that they could get Alliance liquid, which despite repeatedly ordering, failed to be delivered. Finally , they agreed to use Lloyds suppliers which I believe are AAH (Bristol labs who make Brillpharma distribute through AAH and AAH Trident per an email I received from them) as an emergency measure as outstanding since 20/9/22. I have heard nothing from Boots.
Hopefully, with your good news and that of Jaydee, I will be hearing from Boots shortly , although my prescription is for 50mcg liquid, rather than the 75 and 100mcg you have both successfully received.
So glad that I , and both of you have managed to obtain supplies, finally.
it’s all very odd. I have been given 4 bottles of Brillpharma 75 mcg - I wanted 100 mcg but they couldn’t get it. Alliance seem to be the distributors for both Lloyds and Boots. You are more likely to get your 50mcg I would think as it is cheaper than the higher doses. Anyway looks like things are at last moving so let’s hope that this was just a blip in supplies and there won’t be any more problems!
