received my other test result can anyone give me an idea? See by my previous post diagnosed overactive seeing endrocolgist Mon. Medicheck report says normally high level for Graves but you can also have very low dose.

I’m suspicious of that range. 

It’s suggests having under 1.51  is abnormal low - which isn’t how antibodies work.

Usually there’s a “0 - Limit level” or a >limit. 

There can be an unequivocal (borderline)  range, too high to be normal & too low to be considered positive, but that doesn’t look correct to me.

What does the advice state?

“Your TSH receptor stimulating antibodies are reduced” - What does reduced result mean? 

High levels are seen in Graves 'disease.  - Yes that correct high levels would confirm Graves, & what used to diagnose conditions. 

“this result indicates that you do not have this condition” so what does too low a level suggest? 

I think your result indicated negative result & there is no evidence to support Graves diagnosis.

“Low levels of TSH receptor stimulating antibodies are seen in some individuals with hyperthyroidism - really? How are they diagnosed then.  Do they mean TSH? 

Suggest you contact Medichecks & ask for clarification. You might like to add the name of test itself is confusing as - TSI (Thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin) tests for for stimulating antibodies only.

TRab in fact test blocking & neutral as well as stimulating.  Both TSI & TRab are accepted as evidence of Graves but the name of test title  is misleading. 

Unless the test is something different.

this is all so confusing to me as this week my cuti specialist says why I'm feeling poorly is to do with my thyroid being overactive. I did the test which was recommended on here I have to see what the endrocolgist says now.

You did have elevated FT4 temporarily - but it’s not due to autoimmune Graves causing hyper stimulation & is not continuous.  Which is good.  

There’s also no sign of TPO & TG antibodies either so it may just be a case of being unwell cause an sudden FT4 rise.

Propranolol does have a mild antithyroid affect but very slight & your levels have naturally corrected, the results you recently posted show a in range thyroid function.

Unfortunately your cuti specialist has jumped on the high FT4 to explain away the symptoms and make the issue someone else’s department to deal with.

Have the cortisol test results come back?

its all long story but my cuti specialist I've been with 2 years got advice from endrocolgist as I was in their hospital. I was in for tests to find out why I'm so poorly and hence bloods come up thyroid. My symptoms are tachardia sweats/low grade fever adrenlin all time awful aniexty lost weight quickly breathless.

tachycardia, sweats, aniexty & losing weight could be put down to a spike in FT4.

Breathlessness can have many causes eg low ferritin, raised temperature must surely be due infection.

  Give yourself some time as symptoms can linger beyond the time when levels test are normal, but they should resolve If down to or worsened by a rise in FT4.

im bit complicated I've had these symptoms for 3 years and we put down to embedded uti but this year they have got worse and infection markers are normal . Could the propranolol be masking my tests now and they have helped a bit with some of the symptoms and brought the level down? I originally put down to the menopause as well.

I really don’t think propranolol would have that great affect on levels.

I was started & stopped on a high 40mg X 3 dose of propranolol & it did impact on FT4:FT3 but only very slightly over many weeks. 

 Don’t stop propranolol abruptly (must be gradual) Doctor from same clinic your pre clinic blood test form listed, made me ill - halting dose without reducing & it triggered migraines.  

I still take low dose now. Propranolol will be helping as it will combat symptoms & reducing heart rate, but not the cause.
