Had any one developed this after a thyroidectomy or just ear issues in general?
I feel like it's one thing after another.
I see an ENT in a couple weeks to confirm
Kind regards

Yes, I had a thyroidectomy in 2006 and have struggled with ear problems since then, mainly from wax build up and then damage to the ear from a micro suction treatment that went wrong. Since then my balance is also problematic.
I use a product called Audiclean regularly to keep wax from building up. It is basically sea water and was recommended to me by the nurse at my GP practice. As long as I remember to spray into the ears regularly, it makes a big difference. My stupidity in allowing it to build up so that I needed the micro suction last year is a huge regret. I am now obsessive about remembering to use it. If wax is your problem, don’t hesitate. It is an excellent product and saves all the awful “olive oil in ear” nonsense recommended by many doctors,
I ‘only’ suffer hypothyroidism - no thyroidectomy but many annoying ear problems. Before diagnosis I was prone to wax plus itching to drive me wild which has continued big time. Nerve pain in the area which felt like ear infections when I was a child but no infection. Since about 75mcg levothyroxine I have developed pulsatile tinnitus. AND medics wonder why we have so many symptoms THEY do not want to listen to! So far my hearing does not seem to be too badly affected - touch wood. I have seen a few people complain on here about ear problems. Another poster has mentioned Audiclean, which I will try myself. I presently use Earcalm which is effectively diluted vinegar. It does nothing for the tinnitus but helps clear the ears. I find a spray of tea tree oil sometime afterwards, helps with any residual itch.
