Does anyone have experience taking the "Livalo" brand of statin (Pitavastatin) if you have Hashimoto's?

Livalo Station and Hashimoto's
Why would you want to take any sort of statin? High cholesterol is a symptom, not a disease. It won't do you any harm.
See the post just below yours.
I've been resistant to taking one for years. Coronary CTA shows mixed plaque, so they are recommending it (of course).
Plaque contains far more than cholesterol ! Homocysteine for one - this is raised when B12 is low - do you know your B12 level ? Plaque forms where there is inflammation - a sort of plaster to help healing. Do you know your VitD level ? VitD is anti-inflammatory and a steroidal pro-hormone - much more than a vitamin. Inflammation can be the source of so many conditions.
Totally agree with what Marz says. Lower your cholesterol too much and you really will hve a heart attack because you will not have the protection afforded by the cholesterol. I think that for your own sake, you should continue resisting! You'd be better off taking large doses of vit C for the inflammation, and getting your FT3 tested. If your cholesterol is high, the odds are your FT3 is low.
There’s nothing on your profile
Are you based in U.K.
How much levothyroxine are you currently taking
Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription
Recommend getting FULL thyroid and vitamin testing done
all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Only do private testing early Monday or Tuesday morning. Watch out for postal strikes, probably want to pay for guaranteed 24 hours delivery
