More hypo after holiday in hot climate

Just come back from visiting my brother in Florida for 3 weeks and I’m definitely feeling more hypo. HR has slowed, cold, brain fog, tired, etc. Is this because of coming from very hot to UK weather?

Often you need less replacement in warm weather. Other factors can affect levels too…. we’re you more active? Eating different diet?

Thanks. Activity levels probably the same but diet was different and I ended up eating gluten (although I don’t believe I’ve got Hashimotos). I take Levo & T3 and my 2nd & 3rd T3 doses were ‘fluid’ to say the least because of our hosts’ meal times. I guess it just needs to get back to my normal living styles.

Perhaps altering T3 times affected absorption?

For those who need more thyroid hormone "in the winter", the trigger for an increase is not obvious (in humans).

It doesn't appear to simply be cooler weather. The timing of peoples' choices of dose change do not match particularly well. But nor do daylight hours. Especially in a technological society with ample lighting at any time.

I look to cats - and the way they change coat from summer to winter. They start moulting summer coat way before it has become much cooler. And winter coat is well established ahead of the coldest weather even if it continues to thicken up.

That’s so interesting! Thanks. While I couldn’t tolerate the heat and humidity outside over there, I felt generally good. Now I want to hibernate. 🤣
