I know some people here are super knowledgeable, and I just wondered what their thoughts are on autoimmune diseases and the contraceptive pill. I have always avoided the pill, as didn’t feel it was right to meddle with my hormones. I have three autoimmune conditions, including autoimmune thyroiditis. I may be completely wrong, I just went with my gut feeling.
Interested to get any advice from you clever folk. Thanks in advance.

Your intuition is correct, have you done a search of old posts? It’s definitely been discussed before. I also listened to a podcast ‘let’s talk thyroid’ from last April that covered birth control and HRT. Good luck finding out more 🦋💚🦋
I only took the contraceptive pill for a few months when I was about 21 but my periods have been heavier ever since and so I have been more prone to iron deficiency.
I know a friend whose teenage daughter is going through the same side effect, and is also regretting going on it.
