Youll need a full blood test as a bench mark before any treatment.

Insist on a follow up appointment & plan before being discharged.

Did you ask if RFA was a possibility?

hey

Yes all my levels on the medication have gone back to normal I’ve asked for copies for all my tests results

I asked about RFA and sadly it’s not an options as the hospitals that are carrying that out are not taking patients from other hospitals currently due to the funding ect

And I don’t want RAI

So we have agreed on surgery

id check that with icb (integrated care board).

It used to be a right to choose your hospital & when a unique treatment is available this applies even more so.

Hi Stacy, I had a lobectomy 8 months ago. As far as the surgery I brought meditation recordings and music and it was a good thing because my surgery was delayed for hours. I made sure to talk to the anesthesiologist and asked for anti nausea preventative meds up front. The surgery went well and I felt surprisingly good after. They sent me home the same day. As far as pain, it was minimal. I used ice on the swelling and just took it easy. No need for pain meds. My only worry was that it became pretty swollen and took 3 to 4 weeks to settle down. The scar was pretty evident for the first 6 months. But Now, I can barely see the scar. Just take care of yourself. You will be tired, even though it doesn’t seem as big a surgery as some others, your body is going to work hard to heal and you will need rest and lots of nurturing. Good luck. Warmly, Lisa

thank you for your advice and your experience with this surgery

I’ll be sure to ask for the anti sickness and I’m already starting to prepare mentally and physically for the whole process

Take care & all the best
