Hm, I took my blood pressure today and it's weird. 138/80 at left hand and 167/90 at right hand with 80 pulse. Something is not ok. Wath can I do? I take ndt (1 gr in the morning and 1 afternoon. Normally I had the same bp at both hands.

So I presume your blood pressure has gone up from your bench mark numbers and now too high, so drop back down on the previous dose of NDT that you found acceptable and stay on that dose for 6-8 weeks and then run a blood test and see how your T3 and T4 compare to your bench mark results.

Is not that easy, if I drop back down I will feel more underdosed. Anyway, I don't feel optimal.I think it's too much t3 in the dose that I take and maybe I should add a bit of levo, although physically I feel energetic but psychic I have anxiety.

I read something recently (health article in a newspaper I think) that said we should take BP readings from both arms as they tend to show different results.

As I suffer from hypertension I get mine checked occasionally at the GPs but as I get white coat syndrome it's always very high there. They accept readings that I do at home in better circumstances. Do you do your home readings as advised:

Sit quietly for 15 minutes with cuff in place on arm ready to inflate.

Take BP and discard first reading.

Take 3 more readings.

Work out the average of those 3 readings.

I suppose you then repeat on the other arm but I've never done that (only just read about the difference, and because I'm right handed I always do test of left arm).

That wont explain the difference in BP readings from right arm and left arm which is what I was addressing.

When you first start checking, you should check both arms as you say, same technique on each arm.

If they are very similar, especially if they are stable over several days, you can alternate arms day by day, or do the "other" arm once a week, or whatever is convenient. Just don't make your right arm feel left out. :-)

Blood pressure with this much difference between right and left arm is something to be concerned about. A 10 point differerence is normal, but this difference could be a sign of diabetes and other stuff that can be treated. Go to your GP with readings over 5 days minimum. Hug.
