Taking Thyroid Test

I am going to take my full Medichecks test in the morning inc Vitamins.

Stopped taking my supplements 13 days ago but have taken my 20mg of Citalopram this morning as normal.

Wll this affect the results?

Also will exercise (30 min sea swim this morning) or alcohol ( wine last night) affect results?

Want to ensure I don't mess it up!

Stopped taking my supplements 13 days ago but have taken my 20mg of Citalopram this morning as normal.

You don't need to stop your vitamins before testing, you need to know what your dose is achieving so you continue to take them up to and including the day before the test.

The exceptions to this are:

B Complex, biotin or any supplement containing biotin (B7) as this can cause false results with any blood test - stop 3-7 days before.

Iron - stop any iron supplement 7 days before any iron test.

Today's Citalopram wont affect your test results but I'd suggest you take any medication after your test tomorrow.

Last night's wine wont affect results nor will today's swim.

Last dose of Levo should be 24 hours before your test to avoid a false high or false low results.

Many thanks. I was taking B12 and it said to stop this 2 weeks before test.Last Levothyroxine was 6am this morning and will take test before 9am.
