Increased heart rate

Hi Amazing forum members,

I recently had a blood test (results pending), although I've received a text messaage advising that my result are normal, but I complained about what feels like heart palpitations - to no avail. It will be difficult for you to give feedback without the results -but any thoughts what causes the intermittent heart palpitations?

I take 50mcg Levo. I've been "borderline Hypo" for 3 years, and can't seem to make any progress with my GP.

Hi Explor

Difficult to say without your results so perhaps when you get them you can post them, along with their reference ranges.

Looking at previous post 6 months ago you mentioned "heart flutters" then. Palpitations can be a symptom of hypothyroidism. Replies to your previous post told you that you were undermedicated to have FT4 only 45% through range. It was explained to you that 50mcg Levo is a starter dose and that you needed an increase so did you discuss that with yourGP?

Plus, of course, for a full picture you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 all done at the same time because FT3 is the active hormone that every cell in our bodies need and low T3 causes symptoms.

GP not keen to increase dose, even though 50mcg is a Starter dose.

Wait till you get your new results before we say any more but you may have to start advocating for yourself if you want to feel well. The aim of treating a hypo patient is to alleviate symptoms so that they feel well, not keep them ill and symptomatic.
