Updated research references for ADHD

Hi, anyone else interested in trying to update the Thyroid UK research references on ADHD and thyroid?

I have been reading Albrecht et al 2020, Uter et al 2020, Custodio et al 2021, etc. and think this is all extremely important stuff.

I have a 16 year old who is about to go for ADHD (inattentive) assessment and I am fairly certain the clinicians will not have read this stuff, therefore will not necessarily make the connection to her hypothyroidism (and how much her mental capacity is improving since she we were able to go private age 16 to get her TSH into low end of range - she can even have whole conversations now and started reading books again!).

If I can make a new summary and get someone to read over and check it, I could use it. Ideally with Thyroid UK backing.

I haven't a clue about hyperactivity and hyperthyroid unfortunately. But anyone with interest in this specific issue of hypo and inattentive would be interested to hear from you.

Hi no but I did contact her previously about writing some guidance on being in a 'normal' or 'reference' range vs finding what is optimum for you; and she was busy and it wasnt a priority, so I don't want to bother her.

Have you noticed what I have just posted? (We were probably both typing at the same time!)

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

It probably won't help you directly. But likely of some interest.

Yes thanks, great minds think alike (us). My dd has slight hypermobility and was checked for EDS. She really has very few physical symptoms apart from fatigue, hair loss and cold, so Im fairly confident she doesnt have EDS. But it is all connected for sure. I'm going to focus on the ADD and thyroid stuff for the moment.
