As mentioned phoned endro's secretary and asked if it was possible to speak to the consultant as a couple of things I now know but unaware of at the time of my appointment. She told me I had been discharged and levo medication stopped. I was told there were NO b/test results which I did tell the consultant, must admit , when I mentioned the ranges he said I have ranges I do not need them which I thought was odd. Mentioned about the high b12 and told I have to see my gp about that.

I spoke to the gp just after receiving MMH results ref. to levo and high b12, answer was its to complicated I am referring you, so I waited 3 months for nothing.

The secretary told me they only accept NHS. b/tests.

If they only accept NHS blood tests tell them they are welcome to repeat the same test they are willing to act on.

You are within your rights to seek investigations and treatment elsewhere.

With regards to result ranges - Fobbing you off by saying you have them / don’t need them is unacceptable - but never accept verbal (or hand scribbled) results & reference ranges.

Ask for a printed copy, you are legally entitled to them once doctors has viewed them. If hospital is obstructive you can do a formal application to records department. A single record can be organised quite quickly. You may need ID and witness signatures - I did this via email for a specific record 7 years old.

Then I applied for entire records which took weeks & was posted.

Terrible being passed between GP / Specialist / GP / different specialist. Many of us experience it.

What annoys me throughout out 2020 & 21 & this year i have paid for private b/ tests. The Dr. Is in receipt of the 6 copies, she as not included any results to the endro. After my phone conversation with the endro trying to explain the symptoms i have, is conclusion it's not helping so he as stopped the levo. The fault is with the gp not putting things such as test results, high b12 >2000 in her referral letter / email.

Using private b/ tests I think is better as labs ranges b/horizon , medichecks, & mmh, are all the same & you can keep to the same time of day.

A few weeks ago I had to apply to the hospital for x-ray report also got the image.

Re the high B12 (I just read your last post), when it rises without you taking supplements it can indicate a liver problem. It may not surprise you to learn that some GPs don’t know that… hopefully yours is one that does and might consider ordering a liver function test.

So sorry you’re being passed from pillar to post. It seems particularly unfair when you’re doing all you can to monitor your own health.

After the labs made a comment liver b/test done says normal - no action.

Thank you.

Did you point out that MMH is an NHS Lab - Exeter Hospital, and if they didn't trust those, then they could repeat them themselves. Treatment on the NHS is woeful.

To be honest my phone call appointment was quite short, he said he had no idea why he was phoning me, as he no information I was trying to explain things, when I mentioned t3 answer he would only consider that with someone in a range of 2, he decided levo was helping so was stopping it. Now I have swelling in my left leg & foot, do not know whether is to do with stopping levo or PH issue.Blue horizon use NHS LABS, I use them when I want more b/tests usual gold 1.

Thank you for your reply .

Blue horizon use NHS LABS,

No they don't, they don't send their samples to an NHS hospital lab, they use either Eurofins County Pathology or The Doctor's Laboratory, both are private labs and are accredited (NHS labs are subject to accreditation too) and some private doctors use The Doctor's Laboratory. NHS labs are based in NHS hospitals, Monitor My Health is Exeter Hospital and the only NHS lab which offers fee paying private testing to the general public.

They are in the same post code area in Tavistock but different roads.

Tavyside Health Centre is an NHS GP surgery in Abbey Rise.

Blue Horizon Medicals in Whitchurch Road is a company that provides independent private blood testing.
