DNA Testing advice

Hi everyone,

I read about DNA testing often in the forum and read that many upload the raw data to get more out of it.

I was usually opposed to this, but the health section kind of interested me 😬

I have seen that many companies are running very good offers with some being as cheap as £39!!!

The companies I'm considering are 23&Me, Ancestry DNA and MyHeritage (price).

It seems that 23&me is the only one offering a health package with a lot of health insight.

Those who purchased 23&me, did you get a basic test or the Health version?

Basically, I'm trying to understand if I should go for the higher packages if I plan to upload the raw data to a 3rd party service.

Lastly, which genes may be of interest for thyroid?

Do you recommend any of the above companies?

There’s this one too

mthfr-genetics.co.uk

£139 for full test and analysis

Or they can analyse other companies data for health evaluation …..need to email for price. It was approx £15 three years ago

Oh thanks!I think I’ve seen this before in the forum….

Have you tried them?

Do they also report on the ethnicity too? 🤭🫣🫣

I used them to analyse my Ancestry DNA (which I had already done 2-3 years before)

Ancestry shows ethnicity

Don’t think the MTHFR test considers ethnicity

considering ancestry is relatively inexpensive compared to the MTHFR or 23 and me... did it give you all the health info you were looking for?Sorry, I am curios whether the raw data is effectively the same and each company gives you chosen "results" or if they actually analyse and therefore give you less raw data based on the packages?

I don’t think the ancestry screen gives as detailed results as getting full test done
