I’ve recently been prescribed lio, 10mcg twice a day plus 100mcg levo once a day. I take levo and lio when I wake, the second dose of lio at 5pm. I am finding that as the evening wears on I get very sleepy and have become prone to suddenly dropping off and waking maybe 1/2 hours later. Would it help if I moved the 2nd dose ? The only advice from the Endo was not to take it before bed, I’ve spent hours scouring the net and am becoming totally confused. I’d love to hear from others of their experiences.
Thanks in advance

Many people find it better to split T3 into 3 doses
Trial and error what suits each person
Lots of people find small 5mcg dose T3 at bedtime improves sleep…..but doesn’t suit everyone
Feeling sleepy after taking a T3 dose when initially starting on T3 ……it might improve after 2-3 months
If trying 3 doses
10mcg waking, 5mcg mid afternoon and 5mcg at bedtime
If bedtime dose keeps you awake….try waking noon and 6pm
At least Half an hour before food (ideally an hour)
What were thyroid and vitamin results BEFORE starting on T3
Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose change or brand change in levothyroxine or T3
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested.
Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally before 9am last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
On T3 or NDT - day before test split daily dose into 3 smaller doses, spread through the day at approx 8 hour intervals, taking last 1/3rd of daily dose 8-12 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

My results are all over the place, when I was on 125 mcg levo TSH was nearer 2.26 , t4 20.8, t3. 4.07, but the Endo insisted I went on 100/125.
Ferritin nobody can give me an answer, 2 gps were checking it, another said it was normal! Searching seems to say menopausal women can be as high as 300.
I always do a Medicheck blood draw at the same time as nhs, so I can be somewhat prepared for the consultation.
Since starting T3 it’s like night and day. My mind is sharper, breathing almost back to normal and no more aches, pains and weakness in my hips and legs. Also energy levels have improved. Oh, and my hair has stopped falling out!
This is a past link that you may find informative. One of Thyroiduk's Advisers - also a doctor, scientist, researcher and expert on T3 unfortunately died due to a bad fall which started a brain bleed and caused his demise and everyone who knew him or restored their health due to his advice were saddened.
Many have to experiment to find if one dose or several splits suits best and at what timings.
Your endo obviously isn't familiar with T3 dosing or would know some find a T3 bedtime dose helps them sleep better. You could try moving second dose later, ie 2 hours post eating, or split dose into three with the largest dose early morning to stay supporting adrenal glands, a smaller dose mid pm, and another at bedtime.
