Does your friend have any symptoms of hypothyroidism or why were these tests ordered? They look perfectly normal to me in a person without latent thyriod disease and who is not on thyroid hormone replacement...the TSH is below 2 and her FTs midrange which is where they are supposed to be (more or less) in a euthyroid individual. I cannot comment on the fact that there are in-range but measurable levels of anti-TPO and anti-TG, but hopefully others will. But I doubt any doctor would diagnose or treat hypothyroidism based on these results.

Thank you for replying. My friend has symptoms of Hypothyroidism but NHS tests have been inconclusive. He is fatigued, Loaded with Oedema and bears all the hallmarks of classic hypothyroidism but where he lives in W Wales it is difficult to get any GP's to take his symptoms seriously. He is, at present, on no thyroid meds.

I´m sorry to hear that, it must be awful to have those symptoms and no conclusive lab results! Unfortunately, I don´t think a doctor would be willing to treat him at this stage, given that his lab results including anti-TPO and anti-TG are well in range, and doctors don´t tend to pay much attention to symptoms...but if your friend is symptomatic, it is important to continue to measure the TSH and free T4 levels regularly to see if they change...It seems that many doctors don´t suspect hypothyroidism when a man has symptoms, simply because it´s more common in women.

As PurpleCat71 has said, does your friend have a diagnosis of a thyroid condition and is she on any thyroid meds, the interpretation of her test will depend on knowing this.

Her thyroid antibodies are very low in range with that test and do not suggest autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). However, antibodies fluctuate and can show lower or higher when tested at another time.
