For those of you who need your Ft4 in upper half of range

What are your symptoms when lower than that with good Ft3?

I get return of hypothyroid symptoms

Particularly

Noticeable drop in energy

Feeling cold

Pins and needles, especially after activity

Pain in bones/joints

Insomnia

Dry skin

On 20mcg T3

Reducing dose levothyroxine from 125mcg daily to 112.5mcg daily …..after 12 weeks was enough to cause Ft4 to drop from 21 down to 13 (range 12-22)

I currently take 125mcg 4 days week and 112mcg 3 days week. This keeps Ft4 around 16-18 (12-22)

Thanks! Do you find any difference between to low ft4 and good Ft3 or just undermedicated with low ft4 as well?

On just levothyroxine, if Ft4 was at 13 (12-22) I would have TSH around 2 and be immobile/bedbound

On levothyroxine plus T3….with Ft4 at 13 (12-22) and Ft3 around 5.6 (3.1-6.8) I would be able to function a limited amount…perhaps 30mins am and pm

On levothyroxine and T3 with Ft4 and Ft3 optimal for me ….that’s Ft4 at least 17-18 and Ft3 at least over 6 …..I can function normally…..but still couldn’t run a marathon!
