Writing prescriptions for brands of levothyroxine

The Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (in the UK) has a page on writing prescriptions for specific brands of levothyroxine. I have attached an image which shows an example of how it should be done.

If the prescriber just adds a note, the pharmacy might not get the appropriate payment.

Of course, the same advice would apply to other medicines such as Liothyronine.

So not exactly brand new. Wasn't that around the time that being prescribed a particular make became acceptable in some cases?

June 2021 is brand new when you consider how many years patients have been told by pharmacists that all brands are equal! 😀
