I wish you well and I hope the doctor you consult is helpful and kind. Sometimes that's missing but if not, you should have a good consultation.

Occasonally we find a supportive, knowledgeable, kind doctor who does their best to restore our health.

Quite a number of doctors don't seem knowledgeable about how patients can feel when they have hypothyroidism and levothyroxine isn't working. Thousands of people have no problems with levothyroxine and they wont be searching the internet for help/advice.

Request GP test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

How long since thyroid was last tested

Always get blood test done early morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Come back with new post once you get results

Hi slow Dragon. I am on 14 tablets a day. Blood pressure cholesterol and stomach tablets

Stomach tablets…..you mean a PPI like omeprazole or Lansoprazole

Essential to regularly retest vitamin levels when on PPI

Especially B12, magnesium and iron

PPI like Omeprazole will frequently lower vitamin levels

Hi. I was just wondering if you've checked the side effects of the meds you're taking and whether there might be a link to the symptoms you're getting. Some BP meds are notorious for side effects. I was given Ramipril and reacted badly and was really quite ill. Similarly with statins that can cause all sorts of muscle aches. Just wondered if it's worth checking it out? You may find that reviews of your medications online relate to what you're experiencing?
