Thoughts on Beef Liver Capsules to increase Ferrtin Levels?

Hello,

I know I need to increase my ferrtin levels and have been warned off iron supps until I have a full iron panel (which I am waiting on).

I tried chicken livers but as an ex vegan I couldn't eat it. Does anyone have any thoughts on beef liver in capsule form?

looking at these.

Thanks!

Not sure if you are asking whether it would be OK to take beef liver capsules before you get tests results?

If so, the same issue applies. Taking any significant iron source is probably not a good idea if you do not know your current status.

Beef liver can be a good way of increasing iron intake. The haem and/or ferritin they contain is absorbed by a different route/pathway to how other iron substances (such as ferrous sulfate or fumarate) are absorbed. It is less likely to cause stomach and digestion issues. However, you need to be careful you don't overdo it as it will contain vitamin A - and too much vitamin A is bad for you.

Lilacsocks, as far as I can see the product doesn’t state how much iron it contains
