Does anyone have a problem getting Mercury Pharma Liothyronine 20 mg? My Pharmacy know I have this brand, but wanted to give me Morningside this time as they said they couldn't get the Mercury one. The last time I swapped brands, I had a migraine for a fortnight! So I've told them to put it on hold for a minute, until I can find out what has happened to the Mercury brand. I'm sure someone knowledgeable here will know.
Thanks!

Thanks, though they are usually very good, and Mercury Pharma has always been the one they've kept anyway. Looking on the medicine list you kindly gave, there is no mention of mercury pharma on the list. Perhaps they have been taken over by another company?
Thanks for that.Looks like they may have been renamed under Advanz then, but I will contact them by email/phone before telling the Pharmacy. Then perhaps they can order them under Advanz.
No I don't think they've been renamed, Mercury Pharma has been discussed as being "difficult to get hold of"recently on the forum, it's just that pharmacies can't be bothered to source it. Advanz is just the company who makes them and have done for quite some time. They also make Levo and have two brands - Mercury Pharma and Eltroxin - and they haven't changed those to "Advanz".
I've had a problem this week. After having awful problems in the past Boots have been able to get me a consistent supply of Mercury Pharma for about a year now but when I picked up my last prescription it was Morningside. Like you they told me they couldn't get it. Hope it is a temporary thing because constantly switching brands makes me ill, headaches and palpitations.
The same here, at one time I swapped to Morningside because of a problem, then I stayed on them until the pandemic started and they couldn't get them anymore. Then I have been on Mercury Pharma since then. If I swap again I know I will spend 2 weeks of the month with horrendous migraines.
