Hi folks hope all’s well with everyone!

That’s me up to 50mcg of Tiromel from last week and seem to be tolerating it

It’s about three months now that I have gradually upped my dose

Thing is I am still a chronic insomniac and feel this is stopping me healing and feeling the full benefits of the T3

I am still feeling constantly in a fatigued zombie zone

Was hoping by now that this would have changed with the addition of T3 would help me sleep

Tried a small dose before bed and that doesn’t work either

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I split my T3 dose so that I have half a dose at bedtime and again when I wake in the night.

Good morning MuffyApologies for messaging you and for asking this in case you think I am being a bit forward here

Just curious as to how much of a dose you are taking?

Again my apologies and I do hope you don’t mind me asking

have you done a four point saliva cortisol test, to check your adrenal function?

Hey bagpuss61 thanks for replying!

I have had my cortisol checked with blue horizon twice (I think) when my bloods were done

Showed up high cortisol once and then asked the doctor and they checked it which apparently came up ok from a 9.10am blood test

Any recommendations for the saliva test if it’s better?

I'm not sure which one is currently the best, Might be worth asking admin in a new post for that. But it must be a saliva four point test, not blood.

I take 40mcg of T3 a day.

I have altered my dose so that I take most of it at bedtime now (50mcg) and a very small dose (6.25 mcg) first thing. I still occasionally find I cant sleep but on the whole it seems to be working. I have also worked out over the years that eating sweet things after midday adversely affects my sleep.

mstp I appreciate your reply, thank you!I had been splitting my doses there three times per day

But past few days I have taken one and a half and my first day taking the full dose (50mcg) was today

Seem to be tolerating it so far although I probably have to still slowly up it a bit more

I understand it’s all trial and error initially for a while but I thought at least I would have been able to sleep by now

Just the same in a deep zombie zone tossing and turning all night then the headaches aches and pains start

Good thing though I am not up and down to the wee boys room all night so somethings definitely getting better

Hi, low levels of progesterone can cause poor sleep, have you had your levels checked?

Appreciate the reply Jonnyseven thank you!To be truthful that’s the first have came across progesterone if my cogs of memory recall serves me correct

Will need to look that up with good old google

Do you have any suggestion of where to get tested out with my doctors as I don’t have a relationship with them these days

Your dose of Tiromel at 50 mcg is quite high - equal approx to 200mcg of levothyroxine.

Do you take your dose on an empty stomach with one glass of water?

I take 20 mcgT3 only and I take it when I awake and wait an hour before I eat. I am well and have no symptoms but we are all different.

25mcg of T3 is equal approx to 100mcg of levothyroxine - in its effect. I would trial a reduction and see how or if it suits you.

One of TUK's advisers took his one daily dose when he awoke in the middle of the night so that nothing interfered with its uptake.

Shaws thank you so much for the response! I started taking 50mcg in the morning as a trial to see if I can cope with that amount at once

Today was the first day at 7.30 and feel as if I can tolerate it but felt a crash a few hours ago

I have been thinking about the T3/T4 x 3 to 4 ratio and to be truthful it’s actually confusing me

I dropped my levo and gradually worked up the T3 but still feel fatigued (could because of my insomnia) and bloated all the time even though I am doing an 8/16 eat/fast trial along with my vits D3,B vits, selenium and magnesium

Been checking my heart rate, temperature and blood pressure and none are going overboard

I have had a slightly lower temperature (around 35’s) before upping the T3 but now I’m averaging around 36-36.5

Heart rate has been raised to around mid/high 60’s but was initially around mid 50’s when resting

Blood pressure can be slightly high later at night around 130/90-80’s

I started getting chest pain a few hours ago along with a deep fatigue but I am thinking that thats the T3 lowering as I don’t get it as much after taking the 50mcg T3

Chronic insomnia is a problem with me that I just can’t seem to flick that sleep switch

Starting to think there’s maybe something else underlying now and will just need to try and work it out
