Hi can anyone send me a message and let me know where I can by Armour?
I have a private doc and he wants me to try T3 or NDT. I have a big problem with fillers so he has been suggesting Teva T3. The chemist wants to charge £3 for one tablet so I said no thanks, especially for Teva. I'm waiting for him to get back to me. I would rather know if I can get Armour anywhere?
My worst symptom right now is fluid retention. I'm beginning to look and feel like Mr Blobby. My legs and feet are stinging and painful because of the fluid. My fingers are like sausages and in the morning my face and eyes are so swollen it takes me almost half an hour to see properly. I have been sleeping sitting up to keep the fluid off my face but because of that it's staying in my feet and legs.
Anyone got any ideas?

Well if this doctor chooses to write a prescription for Armour it is meant to be available on the NHS :
Failing that there are companies listed on the Thyroid UK website who will fill the prescription privately for you at a cost and understand you'll need to " shop around " between those companies.
Without a prescription I believe branded Armour and T3- Liothyronine is available from a few US pharmacies.
People source their own T3 through the internet at a lot cheaper prices than the NHS.
The cheapest Natural Desiccated Thyroid, supplied without a prescription, is from Thailand.
Do you have any recent TSH, T3 and T4 blood test results and ranges ?
No thyroid hormone replacement works effectively until core strength vitamin and minerals are optimal, and these are those of ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D :
P.S. You looked to be undermedicated 5/6 months ago ?
NHS took me off thyroid medication a year ago. I've only just gone back on T4 3 months now. My TSH went up to 5.99 and NHS said I wouldn't get my levo back till it reached 10. So I went private but he's taking his time. I'm getting desperate now coz my weight is out of control. I have put on over 2 stone and fluid retention is terrible. He wants me on T3 but my problem is fillers. It has to be without mannitol and anything petroleum based or alcohol which rules out all the cheap ones. I'm about going nutty!
So these results are after 3 months on T4 monotherapy :
A TSH over 2 when on medication is too high and you'll likely feel better when your TSH drops down under 1 :
A dose increase in Levothyroxine will lower your TSH and there is room to increase your T4 is just around 48% through with your T3 is tracking at 46% through the range.
You can buy your own T4 - Levothyroxine and do it for yourself - is this an option worth considering ?
Levothyroxine is a lot easier to manage and a lot cheaper to source :
Your still need to keep an eye on optimal vitamins and minerals, irrespective of what thyroid hormone you choose to go with.
