Hi all. I'm due to have bloods taken on 7/12- FBC; Thyroid; Iron profile; Vitamins. Can someone remind me what medication I shouldn't take and for how long before to get most accurate results? Sorry I know some have advised me before, but cannot find the posts. Thanks

You can find your previous posts by clicking on your avatar or user name which takes you to your profile page.

Any supplements containing Biotin, such as B Complex, should be left off for 3-7 days before any blood test.

If you take iron supplement then this should be left off for 7 days before any iron test and you should fast for 12 hours before the test (water allowed).

If you take B12 and want a baseline measure to see what you are holding on to then it should be left off for 4-5 months.

Anything else can be continued up to and including the day before then on the day of the test take them after the blood draw.
