Hi I am trying to understand my test results for my thyroid peroxidase AB test … results 298 KIU/L … it is high correct? how do I lower it I am already on Synthroid?

You haven't given the reference range but I assume your result is over range.

Presumably you know that raised antibodies confirm autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's, where the immune system attacks the thyroid and gradually destroys it. When the immune system attacks, the dying cells release thyroid hormone into the blood stream and this is where the antibodies have a job to do. As long as you have a thyroid it will continue to be attacked so there will be antibodies.

Synthroid will not lower the antibodies, the Synthroid is treating the hypothyroidism that the Hashi's is causing.

It's said that taking selenium can help lower thyroid antibodies.

Antibodies fluctuate anyway so will naturally go lower and higher.

You probably can't lower it. I've never seen any concrete proof that they can be lowered. And, even if you managed to get rid of them completely, you'd still have Hashi's. The antibodies are actually the least of your worries. :)
