Hi there I have received my latest results and would love some advice as to what to do next! I take 1 NDT and for this test split it into two doses (as advised on here) to be sure of an accurate result. Should I increase my dose? I am struggling with weight lose (or lack of it) and wonder if that is attributed to the low free thyroxine level.
Any advice please!

I’ve just been reading back through previous posts and see you used to take 4 grains of NDT at one point.
1 grain definitely doesn’t appear to be enough—what made you cut your dose so much?
I would try raising my dose by half a grain a day to start with, see how that goes. Unfortunately it’s never a good idea to raise dosage to quickly as you can miss the “sweet spot”.
Thank you.I was having palpitations and eventually settled on 2 - 21/2. To be honest I panicked when covid hit and was unable to get supplies (daft I know) I have managed to get more now thank goodness (at a cost)
I think you’re right I will increase by half and try that for a few weeks.
Ah, right—yes, I understand that fear only too well (also a self-medicater!).
Glad you’ve got some new supplies (it’s been scary hasn’t it?). Try the half grain to start with, give it a few weeks and see how it goes. I suspect you might need to raise again at some point in the next few weeks as your TSH is over 2 but as I said before, it’s best not to go too fast.
Thank you. Am I best splitting the dose do you think at this stage? Always find it easier to take in the morning on empty stomach, maybe wait til I go up to 2? Thanks again
Not everyone splits their dosage—I never used to. I used to take 3 grains a day in the morning and it seemed to be fine. At some point I switched to splitting - I think it was when I reduced my dosage to 2.5 grains. I’m currently on 2.75 grains so I take 1.5 in the morning and 1.25 in the evening.
